Practical Nursing

MISSION

The mission of the Practical Nursing program is to provide a quality education in a positive learning environment. Our goal is for the graduate of the program to obtain the basic competencies needed to obtain licensure as a Practical Nurse and gain employment in the field.

CLASS OFFERINGS

Day classes begin every trimester: January, May and September

Evening/Weekend classes begin every eighteen (18) months. The next night/weekend program will start July 2009.

Classes are selected six months in advance.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Application: Applicants must first take and pass the Nurse Entrance Test (NET). Interested persons may contact the school at (615) 425-5525, to schedule a testing date.
  2. An application packet will be provided upon successful completion of the NET test. The packet must be completed by the date noted in the packet to be considered for the next step in the application process.
  3. Education: Official High School transcript or G.E.D. score 
  4. References: Submit three work/personal references. 
  5. Health: Submit a complete physical/medical form. 
  6. Orientation Session: Will be conducted by the Director of Nursing. 

NOTE: Successful completion of the NET test does not guarantee automatic admission into the Nursing program. 

LENGTH OF COURSE

Full time Day class is one year or three trimesters (1296 hours).

Part time Evening/Weekend class will take one and a half years or four and a half trimesters (1296 hours). 

COST

The approximate cost of the Day program is $4,100.00 and the approximate cost of the Evening/Weekend program is $4,900.00. This includes trimester tuition, books and uniforms.
