Health Insurance Specialist Program
A Health Insurance Specialist is a trained professional who possesses the basic competencies in medical and dental billing, verifying patient benefits, major health/dental insurance plans, basic medical/dental terminology, basic human anatomy and physiology, basic dental anatomy, professionalism, and computer skills with software-simulation data entry and Microsoft Office.
MISSION
The mission of the Health Insurance Specialist program is to provide a quality education in a positive learning environment. Our goal is for the graduate of the program to obtain the basic competencies needed to obtain certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant and gain employment in the medical or dental field.
CLASS OFFERINGS
Day classes begin every trimester: January, May and September
At this time, there are no evening classes scheduled.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Regular High School diploma, transcript, or G.E.D. score
LENGTH OF COURSE and CLASS TIME
Full time Day class is eight months or two trimesters (864 hours).
Class hours are 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (6 hours), Monday through Friday.
COST
The approximate cost of the program is $1800.00. This includes two trimester tuition, books, and uniforms.

Upon completion, a student is eligible to take these exams for additional certificates:
- Microsoft Office Specialist
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant through National Healthcare Association
