Architecture and Construction
Building and Construction Technology *
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Building and Construction Technology Program provides basic knowledge and applicable skills necessary for an individual to work in the building construction industry. Instruction provided will assist the student in obtaining certifications in “Green Technology” as well as construction trades. This is a day program only and takes 12 months to complete.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Award: Certificates and Diplomas
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program is a highly acclaimed course of study designed to prepare graduates to enter the ever-changing H.V.A.C. field as entry-level service technicians.Special emphasis is placed on geothermal energy, solar energy, and weatherization to support Green Technology. The day program takes 16 months to complete and the evening program* takes 32 months to complete.

Business, Management, and Administration
Business Systems Technology
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Business Systems Technology (BST) program providesthe necessary skills to obtain an entry-level job in an office environment. The Administrative Diplomas begin with basic office skills and introduces students to concepts necessary for their chosen field: Accounting, Customer Service, or Medical. Although technical knowledge is important, students will also learn the human interaction skills necessary for a successful business career. The goal of the program is to develop professional office employees.This is a day program only and takes 12 months to complete; however, it is also offered through RODP (Regents On-line Degree Program).Specific information relevant to on-line courses may be found at www.rodp.org [1].
Health Science
Certified Nursing Assistant
Award: Supplemental Certificate
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program trains students to assist patients in performing basic care at varying levels depending on each patient’s needs. The CNA also reports changes in the patient’s mental or physical status to a licensed nurse. Students receive both theory and classroom lab practice before attending to patients at a clinical facility. The CNA program prepares students to take the Nursing Assistant Test. Successful passage of this exam provides students with certification as a nursing assistant.
Dental Assisting
Award: Diploma
The Dental Assisting Program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville prepares students to become members of the dental healthcare team. The program includes theory along with demonstrations and classroom instruction. Students receive supervised experience performing procedures using simulated methods, study models, and mannequins. Students receive three months of supervised experience in the clinical setting performing procedures on dental patients in a dental office prior to graduation from the program.
Dental Lab Technology
Award: Certificates and Diplomas
The Dental Lab Technology program teaches the construction of prosthetic appliance for replacement of natural teeth, which have been lost by either disease or accident. Dental Lab Technicians work under the guidance and instruction of a Dentist. *CAD/CAM training is available during evening class hours to students working in the Dental Laboratory industry.The day program takes 16 months to complete and the evening program* takes 32 months to complete.

Phlebotomy
Award: Certificate Only
The Phlebotomy program trains students to draw blood via venipuncture and skin puncture. Throughout this course, students experience hands on training in a classroom/clinical setting which will enable the student to obtain the basic knowledge and competencies for employment as a Phlebotomist. This is a day program and takes 4 months to complete.
Practical Nursing
Award: Certificate and Diploma
The school of Practical Nursing is the largest training center for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s) in the State of Tennessee. The program is designed for students to obtain the basic competencies needed to obtain licensure as a Practical Nurse and assist patients in a healthcare environment. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates must take the Tennessee State Board of Nursing examination for licensure.The day program takes 12 months to complete and the evening program* takes 18 months to complete.

Human Services
Aesthetics Technology
Award: Certificate Only
The Aesthetics Technology program is designed to prepare the student for a career in the skin care industry. Through a structured program of theoretical instruction and practical experiences, the successful student will be qualified to obtain licensure as an Aesthetician through the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology. The day program takes 8 months to complete and the evening program takes 12 months to complete.

Aesthetic Instructor
Award: Supplemental Certificate Only
After completion of the Aesthetics course and licensure, the student has the opportunity to take the Instructor Trainee course. The Instructor Trainee course consists of 300 hours training within a period of six months for day and evening class*. The course consists of student teaching, lesson planning, curriculum development, record keeping, and classroom management. Students enrolling into the Instructor Trainee program must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Aesthetician License.

Barbering
Award: Certificate and Diploma
The Barbering program is designed to offer students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to enter the workforce as an entry-level barber. Through a structured program of theoretical instruction and practical experiences, the successful student will be qualified to obtain licensure as a Master Barber through the Tennessee State Board of Barbering. This is an evening program and takes 19 months to complete.
Cosmetology
Award: Certificate and Diploma
The Cosmetology program is designed to prepare individuals with the competencies and skills essential to succeed in the Cosmetology profession. Students are eligible to take the licensure examination through the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology. The day program takes 15 months to complete. The evening program* takes 19 months to complete.
Cosmetology Instructor
Award: Supplemental Certificate Only
After completion of the Cosmetology course and licensure, the student has the opportunity to take the Instructor Trainee course. The course consists of 300 hours training within a period of six months for day and evening classes*. Early Childhood Education
Award: Certificate and Diploma
The Early Childhood Education program offers three avenues of training for persons who desire a rewarding career in the early childhood profession. They include childcare attendant, teacher assistant certificate, and childcare leader. Child Development Associate (CDA) training is included in the curriculum for the Early Childhood Education program. However, CDA lab training is also available to individuals currently working in early childhood education. This is a day program and takes 12 months to complete.

Computer Information Technology
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Computer Information Technology program provides theoretical knowledge and applicable skills necessary for an individual to work in the computer and information technology market. Instruction provided will assist the student in obtaining certifications recognized in today’s computer and information technology market. This day program takes 16 months to complete.
Manufacturing
Drafting / CAD Technology
Award: Certificates and Diplomas
A student without previous drafting experience or training will study Basic Drafting. After successful completion of the basic drafting curriculum, the student chooses a unit of specialization: either Architectural or Mechanical drafting. Additionally, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) is the primary focus of this program. The Drafting and CAD Technology program is designed to impart the skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the ever-changing world of CAD.This program takes 16 months to complete; however, it is also offered through RODP (Regents On-line Degree Program).Specific information relevant to on-line courses may be found at www.rodp.org [1].
Mechatronics
Award: Certificate and Diploma
Mechatronics technology trains students extensively in manufacturing processes with emphasis an on accuracy and productivity utilizing skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, computer controls, and preventive maintenance. Instructors emphasize proactive maintenance rather than reactive maintenance. Graduates will be well-rounded, multi-craft technicians.
Machine Tool Technology
Award: Certificates and Diplomas
Machine Tool Technology prepares the student to work in the industrial machine tool trade. Students develop skills by completing hands on projects using conventional machinery such as saws, drill presses, grinders, lathes, and mills. The student will then progress to the use of state-of-the-art CNC machines and their associated software. The day program takes 16 months to complete and the evening program* takes 64 months to complete.

Welding Technology
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Welding Technology program is designed to give the students the necessary classroom instruction and practical work experience needed for entry-level job performance. Basic practical experience is gained by shop practice, student projects, and repair work. Oral, written, and performance tests are given to measure the student’s proficiencies.The day program takes 12 months to complete and the evening program takes 24 months to complete.

Transportation, Distribution and Logistics
Automotive Technology
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Automotive Technology program is designed to provide students theoretical instruction and practical experiences in diagnostic, repair and maintenance of domestic and import automobiles. In addition to classroom instruction, students obtain hands-on experiences through live work projects utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment. Cooperative Education Training Agreements also allow students to “earn while they learn” in local dealerships and independents shops. This day program takes 20 months to complete.
ATEP (Automotive Training Educational Program)
Award: diploma
This program was developed by way of a partnership with Nashville State Community College. This program prepares students for employment in the field of automotive service and repair in a variety of dealerships or repair shops. The program includes theoretical and practical components preparing the student in the development of diagnostic skills needed to repair today’s automobile. The student must be able to pass testing procedures as required by sponsoring dealerships or repair shops. Aviation Maintenance Technology*
Award: Certificates and Diploma
The Aviation Maintenance program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA part 147 school) and is designed to prepare students for FAA certification as an Airframe and/or Powerplant Mechanic (Certificate number NVST018K). This is a day program only and takes 18 months to complete.

Collision Repair Technology
Award: Certificates and Diplomas
The Collision Repair program is designed to provide the necessary instruction in repairing damaged auto bodies and parts, which will prepare the student for employment in the collision repair and/or painting trades. The day program takes 16 months to complete and the evening program* takes 32 months to complete.

Truck Driving *
Award: Certificate Only
The Truck Driving program trains students to acquire a Class “A” Commercial Driving License. Throughout the course students learn about safety, integrity, responsibility, and professionalism for the occupation.This program takes 2 months to complete.
