A Note from the Director

Mark Lenz

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville's web site. It is my hope that you will find the information located here helpful. Please come back often as we will be providing frequent updates.

Every day people, just like you, are developing the very real technical skills they need to be successful in gaining employment in today's dynamic job market. In support of that effort, the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville (TTCN) stands ready to provide you with the most up-to-date, comprehensive technical training available.

TTCN serves Davidson and the surrounding counties. The Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville is one of twenty-six Technology Centers established through legislation passed by the General Assembly in 1963. Formerly known as State Area Vocational-Technical Schools, each Technology Center is strategically located in a manner designed to serve Tennessee residents in a broad geographical area. The State Department of Education initially governed the vocational-technical schools. In July 1983, the schools were transferred to the Tennessee Board of Regents, the seventh largest system of higher education in the United States. Our Mission at the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville is to transfer skills and job knowledge to prepare individuals for placement in 22 different career opportunities. We are committed to offering high quality, relative training and education in a focused and respectful environment. Our programs and services are designed to build Real Skills for Real Jobs.

We are a premier provider for workforce development throughout our region. Our instructors are highly qualified in their area of expertise. Some of our instructors have as many as 20 years of experience performing the jobs that they will train you to perform upon graduation. I personally challenge you to find any other training provider in the State of Tennessee that provides the level of training provided by the TTC’s for the affordable tuition rates offered here in our Centers.

TTCN is committed to continuously improving our courses, equipment, facility and the quality of instruction. We will continue to provide competency-based instruction which will qualify students for employment and/or advancement in jobs. Last year, the Tennessee Technology Centers served over 35,000 students.

Please accept my personal invitation to come visit our campus at 100 White Bridge Road today, or call us at 615-425-5500 and find out for yourself why we are your best choice for career development and training. I look forward to meeting you.
