What is an ACT Center?
Our ACT Center is a full-service facility that delivers state-of-the-art computerized testing and training services to individuals, employers, and professional organizations. Our Center uses computer-based technologies, the Internet and other cutting edge processes to deliver these services. You can login or register for the first time.
The partnership with ACT has allowed the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville to be prepared to provide workforce development solutions to ensure that individuals are trained and continuously prepared for the evolving market place.
What services are offered by the ACT Center?
The U.S. Department of Labor estimates that 60% of the jobs in this country require skills that only 20% of current workers possess. There is a large gap between the skills needed and the skills workers have. The Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville ACT Centers mission is to serve that training market by offering these services:
- skill-specific training,
- training courses in a broad array of disciplines,
- workplace skills assessments,
- computer-delivered certification and licensure tests for the trades and professions,
- distance learning opportunities.
What types of training/courses are available at the ACT?
Through the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville's ACT Center you will have access to an extensive electronic library of instructional courseware with more than 1,500 workforce development titles created by leading training providers. The courseware library allows the possibility of just-in-time, comprehensive, affordable training courses in seven major categories:
Web-based Courseware - The courses listed below can be accessed from your home, office or anywhere you have internet access.
- Information Technology
- Computer Basics
- Management/Leadership and Small Business Operation
- Professional and Personal Development
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
Server-based Courseware - The courses listed below can only be accessed from a computer in our state-of-the-art ACT Testing Center.
